To be eligible for Singapore student visa, you must have:

  • Minimum language proficiency in English is a must to get into Singapore.
  • A valid Student Pass. International students are not allowed to begin a course with a Visit Visa.
  • International students and Universities must submit the documents only through the SOLAR pathway to the immigration authorities.
  • Students are eligible for a Student Pass only if they have already been accepted for a full-time course/program into an approved ILH in Singapore. Part-time, evening, and weekend courses/programs do not qualify.
  • Students are exempt from Student Pass if their study course/program is shorter than 30 days.

Documents needed for Visa application

  • A printed copy of the completed eForm16.
  • Formal admissions letter from your IHL.
  • SOLAR registration acknowledgment letter from your IHL.
  • A passport that’s valid for at least 3 months beyond the duration of your stay.
  • In-Principal Approval (IPA) letter.
  • A recent passport-sized photograph of yourself.
  • Certificate of educational achievements and qualifications.
  • Record of employment history.
  • Accommodation details for where you’ll be living in Singapore.
  • Means to pay the online application fee.
  • Means to pay the student pass collection fee.
  • Proof of adequate financial resources to cover your living expenses.
  • Recent medical certificate.

    International student insurance is a requirement for students wishing to obtain a “Student Pass” for their studies in Singapore.

Part-Time Work Permissions in Singapore

    According to the Ministry of Manpower, Singapore, international students on a Student Pass in Singapore are eligible to work part-time for about 16 hours a week during term and for unlimited hours during vacation, provided:

  • They are a registered full-time student in one of the approved institutions.
  • They hold a valid Student Pass issued by the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA).
